Diane Von Furstenberg (DVF), Calvin Klein and Kenneth Cole have joined forces with MINI to create three new designs for charity. The car brand provided each designer with their favourite model and challenged them to add their own creative stamp.

DVF's creation is covered with colourful lips and the bonnet is adorned with the designer's initials.

"Life is love, love is life! I wanted to create something that celebrates life and reminds us of the importance of health," said von Furstenberg. "The red colour of the MINI expresses the awareness of HIV/AIDS, the lips represent Diane von Furstenberg. This car is bursting with life and love."

The new company Bio-Couture is taking green fashion one step beyond reusable tote bags – they take a “hardening ooze” created by yeast, bacteria and green tea and use it to make a kind of fiber. That fiber, ultimately, can make clothes, like the jackets featured at left. Foodstuffs like port wine, curry powder, cherries, and beetroot are used for dyes.

You can follow the process on Bio-Couture’s website, and if you live in London or are planning a trip there in the next few months, some of their creations are featured in the London Science Museum’s “Trash Fashion”exhibit! Talk about eco-friendly! We *heart*! :)

For those of you ladies who are Barbie lovers and traveling to New York this summer, this event is for you!

"For 30 years Barbie® has celebrated diversity around the globe with the Dolls of the World Collection, featuring dolls adorned in native costumes. This summer, the best of the collection comes together for the first time, representing more than 40 nations across all seven continents through a special exhibit on Ellis Island.

You can celebrate the 30th anniversary by visiting the exhibit at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum throughout the summer from June 16th - August 15th.

Later this summer, a special closing ceremony will take place on August 6th at the base of the Statue of Liberty. Ten diverse models wearing reproductions of some of the most celebrated costumes from the Dolls of the World Collection will "come to life" and showcase their traditional garb. While each model walks, the audience will learn cultural and fashion facts about each country. The show will be held at 10 am, 12pm, and 2pm ET on August 6th in Liberty Island."

For all of you fine ladies who are heavily into vintage fashion (just like us) and you just "happen" to be in, nearby-- or traveling to Nashville, Tennessee (LOL), then you should check out the amazing "Golden Age of Couture: Paris & London 1947-1957" exhibition at the Frist Center For The Visual Arts.

"The Golden Age of Couture: Paris and London 1947–1957" is an exhibition that transports visitors to the most glamorous fashion houses of Paris and London in the years after WWII. This exhibition was organized by the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) in London, which possesses one of the finest costume collections in the world. Following record breaking attendance at its launch in London and its subsequent presentations in Australia, Hong Kong and Canada, The Golden Age of Couture continues its international tour at the Frist Center, the exhibition’s only venue in the United States, before traveling to Museums Sheffield in 2011."

We found their promotional posters to be absolutely ADORABLE!
