The new company Bio-Couture is taking green fashion one step beyond reusable tote bags – they take a “hardening ooze” created by yeast, bacteria and green tea and use it to make a kind of fiber. That fiber, ultimately, can make clothes, like the jackets featured at left. Foodstuffs like port wine, curry powder, cherries, and beetroot are used for dyes.

You can follow the process on Bio-Couture’s website, and if you live in London or are planning a trip there in the next few months, some of their creations are featured in the London Science Museum’s “Trash Fashion”exhibit! Talk about eco-friendly! We *heart*! :)
